A second look — not a second rejection

Been turned down for life insurance?
You may still qualify.

A “no” from one insurer is not a “no” from every insurer. There are plans built for Canadians who’ve been declined, rated, or postponed — including coverage that asks no health questions at all.

  • No-medical options
  • Ages 18–80
  • Diabetes, heart, COPD welcome
  • Up to $500,000 for those who qualify

You’re not the problem

Being declined isn’t the end of the story.

“Most people who’ve been turned down were simply sent to the wrong product. The right plan was there the whole time — they just hadn’t been shown it yet.”

Traditional policies put everyone through medical exams and blood tests, then say no to anyone who isn’t a perfect picture of health. The plans I work with are built differently: some ask only a few simple questions, and others ask none at all. My job isn’t to judge your health — it’s to find the coverage your family deserves.

Why this is different

Coverage that says yes more often

No medical exam

No blood tests, no doctor visits, no clinic appointments. You answer a few questions — or none at all, depending on the plan.

Fast answers

Most applications get a decision in as little as 3 business days — not the weeks a traditional medical underwrite can take.

Past declines welcome

Guaranteed-acceptance plans ask no health questions and turn no one away. A previous “no” doesn’t follow you here.

Conditions are okay

Diabetes, heart disease, COPD, high blood pressure, a higher weight — many conditions still have a plan that fits.

First payment month two

Coverage can begin right away while your first premium isn’t drawn until the following month — breathing room when you need it.

One advisor, start to finish

You deal with me directly — a real licensed advisor — not a call centre. I run the quotes and walk you through every step.

Coverage options

Four ways to get covered

Guaranteed Acceptance

Up to $50,000Ages 18–75 · Permanent
  • No health questions — ever
  • Approval is guaranteed
  • Best fit after a decline

Deferred Life

Up to $75,000Ages 18–80 · Permanent
  • A few simple health questions
  • Higher coverage than guaranteed
  • No medical exam

Deferred Elite

Up to $350,000Ages 18–80 · Perm & Term
  • Substantial coverage, no exam
  • Term or permanent options
  • A few simple health questions
★ Most chosen

Simplified Elite

Up to $500,000Ages 18–80 · Perm & Term
  • Full benefit from day one
  • A short health questionnaire
  • Many conditions still qualify
Two honest things worth knowing. The Simplified Elite plan pays the full benefit from day one, but it does ask a short set of health questions, so approval depends on your answers. The Guaranteed Acceptance and Deferred plans ask few or no questions, and in exchange they carry a limited benefit period — if death is from natural causes in roughly the first two years, the plan returns your premiums paid plus interest rather than the full amount; accidental death is covered in full from the start, and the full benefit applies after that period. On our call I’ll show you exactly which plan fits and what it pays, in plain language.

A real person you deal with directly — not a call centre.

Susantha Akuressa, MBA · Licensed Life Insurance Advisor · Carte Financial Group

I focus on the people other advisors turn away. If you’ve been declined, rated, or told you’re “uninsurable,” I’ll look at your situation honestly and tell you straight whether I can help and what it will cost — no jargon, no judgement, and no chasing you afterward. When the right plan exists, I’ll find it; when it doesn’t, I’ll tell you that too.

Licensed life insurance advisor in Ontario (licence number available on request). I also help business owners and teams with group benefits through Strategic Alliance Financial Group.

Honest answers

Questions people ask me first

I’ve already been declined. Can I really get covered? +
Very likely, yes. Guaranteed-acceptance plans ask no health questions and turn no one away, so a past decline simply doesn’t apply. Others ask a few questions and many people with conditions still qualify. On our call I’ll tell you honestly which plans you fit.
Is there really no medical exam? +
Correct — no blood tests, no clinic visits, no doctor’s appointment. Depending on the plan you’ll answer a short health questionnaire or no questions at all. That’s the whole point of how these plans are built.
What is the “limited benefit period” I see mentioned? +
On the no-questions and few-questions plans, if death is from natural causes within roughly the first two years, the plan pays back the premiums you’ve paid plus interest instead of the full amount; accidental death is covered in full from day one, and the full benefit applies after that period. The Simplified Elite plan pays the full amount from day one but asks a few more health questions. I’ll always show you which applies before you decide.
How much does it cost? +
Premiums depend on your age, the coverage amount, and the plan. Because there’s no medical exam, we can get you an exact quote quickly on the phone — and your first payment isn’t taken until the following month.
What happens after I submit my information? +
I personally call you within 24 hours to run your free quote and answer questions. There’s no obligation and no pressure. If a plan makes sense, we complete a quick e-application together; if not, you’ve lost nothing.
How is my personal information handled? +
Your details are used only to prepare your quote and contact you about coverage. They’re kept private and never sold. You can ask to be removed at any time. See the privacy policy linked in the form and footer.
